mining of alkyl radical sulfonate

The present invention relates to pesticide formulations containing at least one pesticide active, a hydrotrope comprising a short-chain alkyl sulfonate, and an adjuvant, wherein the weight ratio of the pesticide active to the adjuvant is from about 1:1 to about 1:5.

The typical synthetic sodium sulfonates are mono-alkylated aromatic ring systems where the alkylates are linear and long-chained. The presence of these short-chained and branched alkyl aromatic groups in Sonneborn sodium sulfonates improve their compatibility with the base oil.

The invention discloses the composition and method of synthesis of various sulfonated amphoteric surfactants including but not limited to, alkyl amido betaine sulfonates, alkyl betaine sulfonates, alkyl hydroxyl sultaine sulfonates, alkyl amido hydroxysultaine sulfonates, alkyl sulfobetaine sulfonates, alkyl amido sulfobetaine sulfonates, alkyl ...

Published June 2018. Linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid (LABSA) is prepared commercially by sulfonating linear alkylbenzene (LAB). Linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS), the world’s largest-volume synthetic surfactant, which includes the various salts of sulfonated alkylbenzenes, is widely used in detergents as well as in numerous industrial applications.

Sodium salt of linear alkyl benzene sulfonate is the most important and the largest amount of anionic surfactants. It has the characteristics of wetting, emulsifying, dispersing, solubilizing, foaming and decontaminating the anionic surfactants. Synthetic detergent, liquid detergent and other civilian washing supplies the main raw material.

The purpose of this paper is to study the tribological properties of a thiazole derivatives (T561), overbased alkyl benzene calcium sulfonate (T106A) compounded with T561 and overbased alkyl benzene magnesium sulfonate (T107) compounded with T561 in rapeseed oil (RSO).

A sulfonic acid (or sulphonic acid) refers to a member of the class of organosulfur compounds with the general formula R−S(=O) 2 −OH, where R is an organic alkyl or aryl group and the S(=O) 2 (OH) group a sulfonyl hydroxide.

Provided is a fatty acid alkyl ester sulfonate metal salt mixture comprising: (a) a fatty acid alkyl ester sulfonate metal salt for which the heat-absorption peak area between 50°C and 130°C is less than 50% of the total absorption peak area between 0°C and 130°C, as measured by a differential scanning thermal analyzer; and (b) a fatty acid ...

LAB (linear alkyl benzene), is the precursor of linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS). Major raw materials used in manufacturing the product are kerosene and benzene. In addition, kerosene, a petrochemical derivative, is the key raw materials used in producing LAB.

Sulfonate anions are weak bases; they are the conjugate bases of sulfonic acids, which are strong acids. Thus, sulfonate esters prepared from primary and secondary alcohols, like primary and sec-ondary alkyl halides, undergo S N2 reactions in which a sulfonate ion serves as the leaving group.
